Welcome to Solid Details

Come see us for custom millwork and store fixtures.

Our plant produces products made of solid wood, veneer plywood, MDF, plastic laminate, paint grade sheet goods, and resin solid surface materials.  We take the responsibility by partnering with other trades who produce items we don't, but need in order to complete the project.  These include, but are not limited to items like, metal, polycarbonate, acrylic, glass, marble, granite, security shutters, and graphics.

We engineer everything we produce and work closely with our partners to manage and engineer the products they produce for us.

In most cases Architects, Designers, and Contractors come to us with plans.  We work with them on details in order to produce shop drawings for their client's approval.  We are involved heavily in the project from start to finish.  Once everything is accepted we release drawings, details, CNC programs, and information to our leaders in the plant for production.

In some cases potential customers may come to us and request we handle it all.  When it's not a conflict with one of our associates, we are happy to turn key as much of a project as we can so your time can be spent doing the things that are important to you.  We will always let you know up front what we can, and what we cannot or should not do.

We are large enough to do major millwork projects, and small enough to care about all of them.  Our projects currently range from $1.5million per order to just under $50,000.00.

About us

Solid Details is a detail oriented company focusing on your expectations. We have the privilege of working with some of the finest clients, suppliers, and employees one can find.  Many of our working relationships go back to the late 80's.

The Owner, Michael Fasang has been building products of wood since 1978.  In the 7th grade in the wood shop of Maude Laird Middle School located in Kilgore, Texas he discovered a passion for this.

Throughout high school he began entering his drawings, and woodwork projects in the Industrial Arts competitions.  All of his drawings, and wood furnishings won first place in regionals, and then on to state where he would take third, second, first place, and finally first with best in show.

In 1983 before completing his senior year he opened a small shop down the road from school where he began to make furniture for his church, Christ the King.  After graduation he continued building cabinets and furniture for local contractors in the Kilgore, and Longview area.

Michael moved his shop to Dallas in 1987 to provide for contractors he began working with in the metroplex, but 6 months later he lost it due to a break-in.  From the age of 22 to 28 Michael worked for two other companies before starting up again in 1993.  Shortly after a customer gave him some projects to build he and this customer became partners.  After lasting 14 years in 2007 that partnership dissolved.  Today Solid Details is just over 16 years old.

Since 1981 I've been involved in this same, and or similar kind of work.  This company has some of the best customers, and people I have ever worked with.  Our entire team has a tremendous amount of skillsets.

My brother who past in 1997 was a great Machinist who wrote his own CNC programs, and a Christian who shared his faith with many.  I worked for him in a machine shop when I had my East Texas cabinet shop.  The two companies were in the same building and connected by a curtain door.  I would work in the cabinet shop all day and then at night for Mel running two machines back to back making plus 0" - .0005" tolerance parts for the aerospace industry.  I only knew how to set up and run a CNC, Mel was the programming genius.  I was amazed at what he could do.  I used to tell him that is going to be a tough part to machine, and he used say to me, "Michael, we can make anything we set our mind to, because we have Jesus on our side."  He could make any part, and how he felt about us then, is how I feel about our guys now.

God says we can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us, and I believe that is true.  It's not us, but He who gives us the ability.  We take no credit, we just promise we will always have your best interest at heart, and we will always pray to the Lord, and allow Him to help us accomplish the goals and to honor our commitment to you.

Just like Mel who is with the Lord now, I am a man of faith who loves the Lord Jesus Christ more than anything else.  I believe in His word.  I don't really have a mission statement, but I do have a couple of my favorite Bible verses that are dear to my heart.  I believe God gives us certain abilities and expects us to honor them, and to not shame His name.

Exodus 35:10
Philippians 4:13
